Lisa MacDonald - Jersey based textile artist and painter. An introduction.

Welcome to my web site. In most of my work  I paint and then stitch into the surface. From a distance the work looks painted but close up you can see that it has been stitched. I often couch thicker threads onto the surface of the piece or use the bobbin and stitch upside down. I love the colour and am fascinated by the surface of the painting. My large contemporary tapestries are great for absorbing sound and as I live on the small Island of Jersey I am always looking to exhibit in galleries elsewhere.

My Facebook site is called New Threads...Look there for up to date blogs and information about exhibitions and my blog is at http://lisamacdonald.blogspot.com
